PRE-PRODUCTION • Camera Workshop

During this camera workshop, we got to test out the new camera equipment. We went through the different setting and the new things that these cameras were capable of. This was a good opportunity to see if these cameras would be ones we would be interested in using for our third year projects and just a chance to get some more experience with the cameras.

We first tested out the JVC which was very different to any of the cameras I have previously used. As the DOP this project, this was a really useful workshop for because it allowed me to see what cameras we might use. The JVC was a really nice camera and has many different options for different types of filming. I liked that it has it's own shoulder mount so it can comfortably be used for filming handheld.

The new Rotolight was also good to test out as this is definitely a piece of equipment i would like to use and test more. The fact that you can adjust the temperature of the light as well ad the brightness is something that I think will be really useful on shoots.

Overall, having this workshop was very useful and I found that I learnt lots of different things about the new equipment and am looking forward to using these on future projects.
