STUDIO PRODUCTION • Trailer Test shoot

To see what our plan for the trailer would look like, we created a test shoot. We used Josh and Sam as stand in presenter and Norman and we filmed in Lecture room 1 where we attempted to recreate the cinema scene we want for the real thing.

We used the projector and played a video which gave us a flicker effect to make the cinema setting more realistic and so we got the light reflecting on their faces. We then edited the video and added some basic graphics that we wanted to include to give an idea of what we would do with the real thing.

We liked how the overall look of the video, the two characters together worked well and its gives the audience a chance to get to know them and for them to be introduced before the show actually starts.

When it came to watching it with the rest of the class, there was a discussion as to whether it works as a trailer or if it would be better suited to the opening sequence of the show. It was decided that this would work better as the opening title sequence so we now need to come up with a new idea for the trailer.
