PRODUCTION • Possible Reshoot | Development

After having some tutorials it was clear to us that we would need to organise a reshoot as there were some extra shots that would really benefit the project and certain scenes where shots we have weren't working and if we had the option to redo then we should. This was decided before the Easter break which gave the producer some time to organise a reshoot over the holiday. It was finally decided on a few weeks later that this would take place on the 30th of April.

iPad Inserts:
There are a few moments were Annie is holding her iPad in her hands and taking pictures/videos in scenes. At this point, we can only see her doing this from a wide shot or a mid shot of her. It was decided that having close-ups of the iPad and being able to see exactly what she sees puts the audience more in her position and within the scene.

Scene 11:
For the scene, our actors were facing away from the camera so we couldn't see their faces. Our plan is to reshoot this scene by filming through the windows so we can see their faces as their standing at the counter. Before the reshoot days, I want to test this to make sure that this plan will work. If not then we will redo the close-ups of the characters so that they are facing the camera more, rather than away.

Scene 17:
For this scene, we needed more shots than we currently have, this includes a close up on our Jordan Hamsay character and a better shot of Marie walking up the driveway so we can see her arrive rather than just appear. These shots should be relatively easy to do as they will be inserted into our project, however, due to this, it is important that aspects such as continuity and sound match up with the footage we already have.

Jordan Hamsay:
I also want to book out the green screen and film some extra shots of Jordan Hamsay for the advert that appears on the tv in scene 7. It was agreed that this would benefit the project and make clear to our audience who he was and establish his character before his major part in scene 17. After a tutorial with Andrea Kapos, we also decided to have some more "The Last Dish" merchandise around the house to really emphasise that is is an important aspect of the episode and shouldn't be overlooked. We came up with the idea of having a The Last Dish recipe book on the kitchen counter during scene 11 where Dean is baking. This fits with the cooking theme of the show and this scene and means that The Last Dish is spread out evenly throughout the project so reminds the audience often.

Overall, I think that this reshoot will be beneficial to our project and will up our production value. As part of my role, I now will go ahead create the necessary documents needed for shoot days such as blocking and shot lists as well as watch through our previous footage and make a list of all visible props that we'll need bring/buy for the day.
